”During the initial briefing, we aim to establish exactly what has to be done and what services you would like us to provide. We encourage clients to contribute their décor and design ideas. Ultimately, the design and decoration of your home should reflect your needs and personality. You should feel entirely happy and comfortable in your surroundings.
The Survey & Presentations
During the survey of the room or house a detailed analysis will be made of every aspect of the space discussed in the brief. A floor plan will be drawn, providing us with a basis from which to work out a design solution. Design solutions will be presented and communicated precisely to the client by means of storyboards, with clear visualisations of every aspect of the intended home décor and design. We will always aim to make your space not only practical and workable but also aesthetically pleasing.
Depending on the needs of the client, Distinctive Interiors can provide assistance with the following design needs:

Selecting Interior Materials & Finishes
Interior design and decoration involves choosing materials and finishes for floors, walls, curtains, blinds, drapes and ceilings from amongst thousands of possibilities. Decisions about cupboards, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures are also part of the selection process.
With the vast selection of products available on the market, it is difficult to keep up with the latest trends and ranges. To complicate matters even more, certain suppliers are strict to the trade, therefore not allowing you to see the full choice available.
The large variety of materials and finishes can make these choices quite a daunting task to do on your own!
Because furniture is a major component of interior design and decoration, the choice of furniture will be a very important part of each project. Selecting furniture also involves choosing fabrics for upholstered pieces, which in turn requires looking through fabric books in furniture showrooms, or visiting fabric showrooms in design centers.
The Interior Designers at Distinctive Interiors, with their vast knowledge of the various furniture styles as well as the large number of furniture suppliers, can take the pain out of these tricky decisions. Based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
